Not too long ago I found myself in a place where I felt like I had hit a plateau in certain areas of my life, especially professionally. I had definitely learned a lot over the years, and the lessons I had learned from my experiences helped form my thinking and place in life. I had listened to countless hours of sales training, motivation, and self help audio, watched countless videos, and read many books on how to change your way of thinking for greater success. But I found myself searching, looking for something or someone that could help me break out into a new way of thinking and push me to a new level of success in my life; a level bigger than ever before. I needed Something that would give me new tools for personal growth. I wanted to get my mind thinking at a higher level like the really successful people, so I could continue to reach for my own potential.

That’s When I Found The 10X Rule

What is The 10X Rule? I had heard a little bit about this book and the concepts taught in it. I was also somewhat familiar with the author, Grant Cardone. I hadn’t really dived into Grant’s content very deeply, I had mostly just seen his podcasts and was familiar with his Information Based Selling process that is widely used by auto dealers across the country. But this book was getting rave reviews with people I knew. I saw first hand how the teachings inside the book could have an immediate impact on someone’s thinking, their production, and attitude in every area of life! People all over the world were using the 10X Rule and blowing up!

Learning how to change your way of thinking isn’t easy when you have thought a certain way for as long as I had. I was ready to give The 10X Rule a try, so I decided to pick it up and see for myself what this was all about. It was on my birthday last year, 2016 when I bought the book for myself. I started reading the book right away, and from the beginning, I was hooked on the content and how it was being delivered to me page after page. It is the best thing I have bought for myself.

What You Will Find Inside the book

Once I began reading the book I was motivated by the author’s enthusiasm. You can just feel Grant’s passion to help people through the words on the page. He talks about topics like what is The 10X Rule and how do you apply it in your life to get massive results. The scarcity mindset and how there is no shortage of success on planet earth. Taking full and total control of your life and everything that happens to you. How to take massive action.  How to beat the “average thinking ‘ epidemic taking over the world. How to change your way of thinking to 10X levels and what that means. Getting started with 10X in your life and much more.

My mind was opened, I realized I had fallen into ways of thinking that really had been preventing me from reaching towards my full potential up to that point. I realized while reading through the chapters that I have been limiting myself most my life with my thinking. I had been setting my targets far too low. I had been allowing myself to be handicapped by limited thinking for too long and it was costing me. I realized that my potential was great and only I know my true potential. I needed to focus my thinking on much bigger targets in life.

I am positive The 10X Rule will help you learn how to change your way of thinking in regards to goal setting and your personal potential. But another thing I immediately took away from the book was the power of writing down my goals, my thoughts, BUT how to do it effectively. This made a tremendous impact on me almost immediately, and my production skyrocketed!

The book is very easy to read because Grant writes it the way he speaks. He isn’t going for any style points, he wants to get your attention, and he gets it with The 10X Rule. With a section at the end of each chapter for notes and reflection, you can also use the book as a work book. This was something that really helped me. I found at the end of each chapter I was motivated with new thoughts, so these areas for notes and ideas were a great tool. This really helps you learn how to change your way of thinking as you go deeper and deeper into the book and learn the concepts.

The 10X Rule Is Either For You, Or It Isn’t

If you are someone that has that nagging feeling that you’ve been designed to do more with your life than you are currently doing, the 10X Rule could very well be a life changer for you like it has been for myself and others that have read it. This book teaches you how to change your way of thinking on a whole different level than anything I have read before. The concept of 10X and Massive Action may not be for everyone though. You have to really desire high levels of success in every area of your life to relate to the author and this material. Grant Cardone is extremely motivated and inspires you to reach for your full potential in The 10X Rule. That high level of enthusiasm is felt throughout the book as it leaps off the pages and pushes you to take massive action in your life.

Wrapping it all up!

If you want to learn how to change your way of thinking from a master at taking massive action and succeeding at high levels, than The 10X Rule is a must read. I wouldn’t recommend you read this book just once though. The first time you pick it up you’ll probably be like me and blow right through it with excitement. I highly recommend taking notes after each section and answering the questions for each chapter. Give what you learn in this book some thought. But most importantly make sure you apply it to your life.

For me, I was able to increase my income more than 25% in 2016 after getting on the 10X program. I moved up to top 3 in sales in the company I sell for after being out of the top 10 the year before. I had my single biggest months ever in my sales career accomplishing goals I had never been close to before. I had more financial success than ever cashing checks for one month that were bigger than two months combined before reading this book. The 10X Rule can and will teach you how to change your way of thinking about your life and success. It will give you the blueprint you need to go out and take massive action and push through to that next level. It truly is the only difference between success and failure.

It is definitely true that our thoughts change our reality. If you think negative thoughts, your reality is going to suck . It is true about how we limit ourselves through thinking. I have been my own limitation in the past with starting a business. I always told myself “i’m not good enough for this”.

Hello Scott,

The 10x rule seems promising I must admit.
A few people realize the importance of the positive thinking when it comes to the personal success.
Can you please clarify some details about the book?
For instance, if there are some techniques, practical examples and explanations?
What do you recommend- the audio version or the paper book?

    Scott · February 10, 2017 at 7:32 am

Thank you for the feedback and questions, Asen!

Yes, The 10X Rule has examples, techniques, and MANY detailed explanations throughout it for the reader to apply immediately to their own life. The great thing about the author of this book, Grant Cardone, is that he writes the way he speaks. He keeps it simple, it’s motivating and easy to follow, and the book is full of Golden Nuggets you can take away and apply right away. The main theme of the book is learning how to take Massive Action to achieve Massive Goals and have Massive results in life.

I would recommend the book if you like to read. If not, then get the MP3 version AND the Book and let Grant read it to you while you highlight and take notes. The first time I read this book I had notes all over the place and was JACKED UP! Made an immediate impact on my mindset, and increased my income more than 25% last year using the principles in the book.

Come back and let me know what you think after you check it out!

That’s actually a really good article!

I did read The 10X Rule, and I do like Grant Cardone a lot, but I did feel that, while the book was plenty motivational, it was also a bit redundant

It was still a good read nonetheless, of course, but he has a tendency to repeat himself…
A lot.

Cheers, Vlad!

    Scott · January 23, 2017 at 6:44 am

Thank you for the feedback, Vlad!

Grant definitely writes the way he talks and can tend to cover a subject multiple ways, but the benefit is that it really sticks with you. They say repetition is the mother of learning. I am glad you enjoyed the book, I highly recommend checking out Be Obsessed or be Average if you haven’t already. This is the follow up to The 10X Rule and really brings it all together! : )

Thanks for the thorough review! I’ve been feeling lately as though my thinking is the biggest factor that limits my success. This book might help with that!

A little background on the author would be helpful because I’m not familiar with him. Also, is this books geared specifically toward increasing sales?

I like that this book combines workbook sections with the writing. Most of the time you have to buy a separate workbook which is a drag. Great review!

    Scott · January 18, 2017 at 5:08 pm

Thank you for the feedback, Jenny!

Great question… this book is NOT specifically geared towards sales. However, if you are in sales you will love it! Really, this book will help anyone that is looking to be more successful in their life, any profession, any kind of passion or goals. The idea is massive action, how to change your thinking that may be limiting you in life, and take control of your life. The author, Grant Cardone is a self made guy who overcame struggles when he was younger (battling addiction, negative thinking, debt) and became a legend in sales and real estate. He is now a motivational figure for millions. His goal in life now is to help as many people as he can break out of the “middle class” mentality that is trapping millions of people into average lives.

Come back here and let me know how it changes your life after you pick up the book and apply the principles in it. I am rooting for you Jenny! : )

As someone who is trying to develop my confidence and learn new marketing/sales skills, the fact that you have given the maximum possible score has certainly caught my interest. It’s not a book I have heard of before until I read this.

Really well written, the enthusiasm you mention the book has definitely flowed into the review!

    Scott · January 18, 2017 at 3:54 pm

Thank you for the comment, Simon.

If you are trying to develop your confidence in sales, marketing, finances, goal setting, attitude, or any of the things that make a person super successful and happy in life, THIS IS A MUST READ. I have been selling professionally for over 15 years and I have had what others might consider great success. I picked this book up on my birthday last year as I mentioned in my review, and I was able to increase my income from the previous year by more than 25%. And I didn’t read the book until May, almost halfway through the year !!! I cannot recommend it more, and if you are in the sales/marketing game you should check out all of Grant Cardone’s content. If you can relate to him as myself and millions of others have, you will see your career and life skyrocket!

Good luck and come back to let me know how your life changes after you get the book!

Blame · January 18, 2017 at 8:08 am

In reality, scarcity thinking is the thing that holds people back from the success that they are trying to attain in their very life. People tend to lean towards thinking about conservation and playing it safe because of negative past experiences and horrible traumas. The 10x rule sounds like a pretty good book, because it can bring motivation back to people and let me think about things the right way. It’s kind of like having a sack of potatoes. Negative people will think about when it will rot. Positive people will think about all the delicious they can make out of it. I will check out the book. Thanks for the recommendation.

    Scott · January 18, 2017 at 11:27 am

    Thank you, Blame!

Great feedback and insight into scarcity thinking, you couldn’t be more right. I like the sack of potatoes analogy as well because it’s so true. Why focus on what you could lose instead of what you can gain? It makes no sense! There is plenty of opportunity and success on planet earth for everyone. The 10X Rule gets you thinking bigger, and clearer about accomplishing great things in your life. I hope you do pick this book up, and if you do please let me know how it changes things for you!

    Be Great! : )

Salvatore V Jenkins Jr. · January 17, 2017 at 10:25 pm

The 10x rule looks like something I need in my life, I have been looking for something more in my life and the urge within gets stronger with every year that passes.

I am well aware that I need to change my way of thinking if I ever want to succeed and push further away from the thought of failure.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely check out the 10x Rule!

    Scott · January 18, 2017 at 6:42 am

    Thank you, Salvatore!

I really appreciate where you are coming from. I have been there, watching another year pass wondering when I am going to start reaching my potential. Once I found The 10X Rule it changed everything for me and I hope that you do TAKE ACTION and get yourself a copy of this book. I invested $25 in myself that day and it has made me thousands, not to mention how much happier life is knowing I am working towards my potential finally.

I wish you great success and I hope you get on the program and become a fellow 10XER!

ValerieJoy · January 17, 2017 at 10:08 pm

I had never heard of the 10X Rule before finding your website. I’m sure this book is just what I need especially when it comes to goal setting. It’s one thing to set my goals it’s another to keep focused on reaching the goals. No doubt Grant Cardone’s inspirational teaching could help me to point my focus in the right direction.

It’s great to learn about the increase in your sales success. That is amazing and proof that The 10X Rule is definitely a book worth reading by anybody working in a sales position and needing to increase their income.

    Scott · January 18, 2017 at 6:39 am

Thank you for your feedback on this, ValerieJoy!

The 10X Rule can not only help a sales person increase their income and achieve massive success, but it will help ANYONE who wants to achieve more in their life! Whether you’re a stay at home mom, a sales person, a teacher, or anything else you can absolutely change your life with the principles in this book! : )

Jagi · January 17, 2017 at 10:01 pm

Thanks for the thorough review on the 10x rule. I’ve always been interested in psychology and how and why people change. We as humans are always reading online how to improve ourselves, but usually all the information isn’t there online.

Always some little detail missing. Sounds like this little book has all I need to be able to make the change that help me become successful in what I do.

    Scott · January 18, 2017 at 6:36 am

Thank you for your comment , Jagi!

The best thing someone can do is find a few mentors, people that are WAY more successful than you are and study them. Learn about them, go really deep on their content and take it all in until you outgrow them. If you choose a mentors like I did, someone like Grant Cardone, it will take a lot of time and hard work to outgrow them if you ever do. The 10X Rule will change the way you look at your life and no matter what you want to accomplish it will give you the tools you need to achieve massive success. If you do decide to invest in yourself and pick up the book come back here and let me know how it changed your life! : )

Adrian · January 17, 2017 at 10:01 pm

This a very good review that you have written on this book and the theme that I get from your review is the need for taking massive action.

I feel that this is very important if you are serious about getting somewhere in life as you are now living proof of it because you have taken your career to the next level.

As you have said, it’s not for everybody as you have to really be motivated to succeed at the highest level, I guess I’m finding out a bit about this as I left my full time job late last year to go full time on my website and it’s been quite a challenge, thanks for your post.

    Scott · January 18, 2017 at 6:25 am

Thank you for your feedback, Adrian!

Congratulations on leaving the 9-5 and going ALL IN on your website and yourself! I think that’s great. If you haven’t read it yet The 10x Rule Book would be perfect for you by the sounds of it. It doesn’t matter your age, profession, goals, training, education, level of motivation currently, religion, race, or anything else. This book will absolutely change your way of thinking and help you to have more success with everything in your life.

I am rooting for you, I hope 2017 is an amazing year for you! If you do decide to pick up the book I would love it if you came back here and left some comments on how it changed your life, because I know it will. : )

Thanks for sharing, really makes me think of reading the book myself. I am open to changing the way i think and perceive the world. I believe it can really have a big impact in ur future endeavours. I also picked up on the point that the author doesn’t really want to be fancy with his writing, instead he speaks to you and grabs your attention and its a big plus that.

    Scott · January 17, 2017 at 4:36 pm

Thank you very much for the feedback. I absolutely recommend you read the book. It changed my perspective and the results I had in my life completely. I bought a $25 book and it produced thousands for me in return and continues to do so today. It’s easy to read and keeps your attention all the way through. The concept of this site has been well thought of, sharing an invaluable 15 year sales experience picked up from a book `The 10X rule`.
A well laid out site, easy to navigate through the pages and I had no difficulty going back and forth to refer back to the contents. All the links work and point to the correct page intended.
As a sales training guide, there is excellent material here for any aspiring sales person to pick up and practice to excel in this very demanding and challenging field.

This is just a note for improvement of the look of the site.
As there is a lot of reading material in the pages, the font sizes could be enlarged for better visibility.

As more material and blog posts go into this site, I see this as a very promising and informative site for self improvement and development.

    Scott · January 13, 2017 at 9:36 pm

    Thank you very much, Achuthan.

I appreciate the feedback and your positive comments!

David · January 13, 2017 at 6:26 pm

Really good post and thanks for outlining all the main features as I had heard other people talking about this 10x rule and I didn’t have a clue what they were talking about. I certainly am one of those average thinkers like most other people and I cant understand why I cant be at the top level like some of my colleagues. Thanks for pointing this out as I need all the help I can get…

    Scott · January 13, 2017 at 9:33 pm

    Thank you very much, David!

Keep checking back for new content. Try this in the meantime. Check out my Tips for a Good Attitude to Succeed in Sales. You can find it on my site under the Daily Motivator tab. I think that would be a great place for you to start. You are not average, you are just allowing yourself to buy into average thinking. Start with a “Gratitude List” and go from there. Let me know if you need ANY help. Just email me at Scott@NewtoSales.org. 🙂

The 10x rule sounds interesting, and i generally love your site, as someone who has excelled at sales in my life, i can attest to the importance of training and psychology that is involved in it – so any sales training for people that teaches them new perspectives and forms of logic to better understand the human species, then the better that person will become as a salesman.

What would you say is your favourite sales training book? Mine is easily – “The greatest salesman in the world” by Og Mandingo.

    Scott · January 12, 2017 at 6:43 pm

Thank you very much for the feedback, Marley!

I love The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino. Great read and one of the first sales books I ever read. I would say my favorite book on Selling would be Sell or be Sold, by Grant Cardone. GC brings it in this one with great content on selling and life.

I would be curious what others think is the Best Book on Sales.. Leave a Comment with your favorite 🙂
